A Drum Birthing Ceremony with Barbara Ocskai

All are welcome. Come in a good way.

I invite you to join me for a full day of ceremony, community, and the birthing of a drum.

To birth a drum is to bring a new voice into the world. Together, we will honor the hoop and hide, the drum beater, the animals, the trees, the Earth, and the ancient teachings of earth medicine. Through prayer, gratitude, and making with our hands, we will create our drums and the relationship that comes with them.

This is an intimate and joyful day of ceremony, teaching, creation, and community. We will share a meal, work together, and allow the day to unfold in its own rhythm.

Please be open to what the day requires, leaving the full day free for your drum birthing ceremony.

Exchange: $425 per person
All medicines, teachings, materials and tools included to create a drum beater and birth your drum. 5% of the exchange goes to the Suscol Intertribal Council.

Limited to 10 participants. Registration is required.

Midwifing your ceremony: Barbara Ocskai have been steeped in ceremonial ways, traditional earth medicine, crafting, and teaching for two decades, sitting with many teachers and learning through relationship and experience. It is an honor to hold this space and to accompany you in birthing your drum.

Considerations: Come as rested, hydrated, and nourished as you are able to. Dress comfortably, layers and slippers are encouraged. Bring water and snacks for yourself, a dish to share for our potluck meal. Bring a large square of cloth to carry your drum home in, not required. A journal is welcome.
